I enrolled as an Agricultural student in the year 2004 at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. A new and fascinating science for me. I was taught number of subjects that improved my knowledge during the undergraduate programme. Among those innumerable subjects I studied, one subject that always inspired me and increased my thirst for knowledge, is AgroMeteorology. I always wondered how the atmosphere influences crop growth. To fulfill that thirst I kept doing research in that field and that lead me to become a doctorate in the field that I loved the most from the same university (TNAU), the university of my dream from my school days onwards till now. In my future posts I will discuss the things that happened during class hours, the thoughts I had when I was first introduced to this captivative science.

So a mix of numerical weather prediction, conventional forecasting , climatology and judicial use of various tools are the need of the hour.
I am sure Dr Rajalakshmi can embrace all these aspects and in due course, she will be the "weather women for…
